Meet the Founder
As a busy mom with a 30-year career in electrical engineering, I never had the time it takes to make torshi that tasted like my mother's and grandmothers' homemade torshis. I yearned to start a business that gave me more time to cook with fresh fruits and vegetables and to honor my Persian culinary heritage. It was also important to use fully recyclable packaging to reduce harm to our global environment.
The genesis of Maman Torshi™ came on a beautiful spring day when I brought some of my mother’s torshis to share with friends at a picnic on Wisteria Farm in Stanley, Virginia. They were such a hit that I decided then and there to try to bring this exotic delicacy a wider audience of food lovers.
